In our online casino, the rules of oasis draw poker with exchange of one card allow playing at three boxes. In this case, from 15 to 18 cards per hand will be available for viewing. This allows the player to bluff. The point is that in oasis poker, the only source of information about the strength of the dealer’s hand is its shown card.

How can it influence decision-making in the course of the game according to the deal?

It is known that if the cards of the rank similar to the dealer’s shown card are in the player’s boxes, it significantly changes the probability of the dealer having a hand. Such cards on hand coinciding with the dealer’s card are commonly called matches. The player can use the information on the number of matches for his own benefit. If the probability of having a hand is low, you should bluff (i.e., close the box without having a hand). Either you should fold low pair if you anticipate a high dealer’s pair.

For example, by playing oasis poker, you have a low pair in the first box and a match with the dealer’s card. You close the box without an exchange. You have no hand in the second box and also there is a match with the dealer’s card. You close the second box, as you already have two matches and the probability of the dealer’s hand in this case allows you to bluff. You also have no hand in the third box, and you close it too, relying on the fact that the dealer has “no game”.

In this example, the dealer really has “no game” and your win for that hand is 3 Ante.

In the following example, after the exchanges in the second box, you have collected Flush. Taking into account that you have already had one match with the shown dealer’s card in the first box, and there is one match in the second box too, the reasonable solution would be to insure the purchased hand to the allowed maximum amount. Here you use the same principle as when bluffing – betting money on more probable outcome, knowing that you have two key cards on hand.

In draw poker games with card exchange and possibility of playing in the several boxes, bluffing technique should be used quite frequently – namely, as soon as the preconditions for this arise. But, oddly enough, in practice, poker players generally do not attach weighty importance to this technique, thereby losing additional profit. Or, deciding to bluff, they refer to the results of the previous deals, good luck of the dealer, a day, etc. In oasis poker, bluffing has a clear mathematical basis and its use should not be based on subjective factors.
